Voice appears in many places
Children express themselves through direct work, complaints, compliments, house meetings, reviews, plans and everyday conversations. A connected evidence picture can recognise these sources without turning every conversation into a formal survey.
Captured is not the same as influential
A child may say that an arrangement does not feel right. The subsequent evidence might include a discussion, professional challenge, review and changed decision. Even where the requested change cannot be made, the child should be able to see that their view was heard and considered.
Honest participation
Not every wish can or should result in the preferred outcome. Recording the explanation, alternatives and response is more honest than implying that participation always means agreement.
Learning from themes
Across a home, repeated views may reveal something that individual records do not. Managers can consider patterns while keeping the child’s specific context and confidentiality intact.
